A: Before beginning these types of concrete projects, we explain the implications of having trucks and heavy equipment on a lawn. Advance Concrete takes the utmost care when installing, repairing, or replacing concrete on residential and commercial properties. Our crew goes above and beyond to keep the project safe by blocking off sidewalks and putting up cones or barricades. We also clean up after ourselves, cleaning the lawn and yard so they look their best. Because heavy equipment may leave ruts in the lawn, we suggest spending a few hours landscaping or hiring a landscaper to repair the lawn.
A: To maintain exterior concrete, clean it regularly. Sweep the surface and apply concrete cleaner on stains. Repair cracks and other damage as soon as they appear. In the winter, use sand as a de-icer, not salt or other chemicals, especially during the first winter.
A: Advance Concrete applies a sealant when we install concrete to protect the surface from water, oil, and stains. We recommend re-sealing concrete on driveways at least once a year in the fall. Patios, sidewalks, steps, and decks should be re-sealed every other year. Sealer protects concrete from staining. It also prevents water penetration that can cause freeze-thaw damage and cracks.
